The Opportunity:
We are seeking a proactive, detail‑oriented Marketing Assistant to support H&R Block’s Marketing, Customer Experience, Business Development, and Internal Communications team. In this role, you will contribute ideas and provide hands‑on support across a wide range of marketing initiatives that help advance H&R Block’s business objectives.
Working closely with cross‑functional partners, the Marketing Assistant supports marketing efforts from planning through execution. Your contributions will help strengthen our marketing channels, internal communications, and customer experience initiatives while ensuring day‑to‑day marketing operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day administrative and operational support to the Marketing, BD, CX and Internal Communications team.
- Assist with updating and maintaining website content, including blogs, franchise listings, and legal pages.
- Support the creation, editing, and distribution of internal newsletters.
- Conduct market research and gather competitive insights to support marketing decisions.
- Assist with the collection, organization, and reporting of quantitative and qualitative campaign data.
- Maintain and update the Marketing section of the internal Intranet.
- Support the upkeep and optimization of Google, Facebook, Apple, and Bing business listings.
- Assist with planning and coordinating business development initiatives and marketing events.
- Support internal communications and engagement activities such as town halls and team events.
- Help maintain the communications calendar and fiscal‑year marketing calendar.
- Format, review, and update internal presentations and marketing materials.
- Support organic social media content coordination and execution.
- Assist with H&R Block’s Returning Hope corporate social responsibility program.
- Prepare weekly marketing status and activity reports.
- Manage the organization, sharing, and archiving of final creative assets.
- Assist with Google Reviews coordination and customer experience (CX) reporting.
- Support local field leaders with regional and local marketing initiatives.
- Handle return‑to‑sender mail and other marketing coordination tasks as needed.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in marketing or communications, including internships, volunteer, or entry‑level roles.
- Strong interest in building a career in marketing and eagerness to learn.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms.
- Basic understanding of core marketing concepts and best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and follow established processes.
- Familiarity with marketing software (e.g., CRM tools, analytics platforms, Google Ads) is an asset.
