The Opportunity:
The Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Marketing and is responsible for developing and executing marketing campaigns, communications and other initiatives that align with H&R Block’s strategic objectives.
The Marketing Manager drives revenue growth for H&R Block. This will involve strategizing and implementing marketing campaigns that effectively target and engage the company's desired customer base, by identifying key market segments, understanding consumer behavior, and utilizing marketing tactics such as advertising, promotions, and customer relationship management.
This position is also responsible for developing brand messaging and positioning that resonates with the target audience, through consistent and compelling marketing communications across various channels, such as digital platforms, traditional media, and in-store materials to build brand awareness, credibility, and customer loyalty
This position is based in Calgary and offers a hybrid work schedule, with 3 days per week in-office.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Contribute to the development and take charge of implementing H&R Block's marketing plan.
- Identify emerging trends and insights, and optimize marketing spend and performance based on these insights.
- Ensure effective communication of H&R Block's messaging to attract and retain customers.
- Serve as a representative of the marketing team in cross-functional collaborations with product management, sales, and customer support.
- Generate innovative ideas for new initiatives and programs.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on the progress of marketing activities and report on campaign results.
- Utilize strong analytical skills to evaluate the overall customer experience across multiple channels and touch points.
- Lead market research efforts to assess the viability of current and potential products/services.
- Collaborate with media organizations and advertising agencies.
- Coordinate with the sales team and other departments to develop effective marketing strategies.
- Monitor ongoing campaigns to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with company image, brand standards, approval processes, and guidelines
Key Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education or Diploma in Marketing or Business and 5 years of experience in marketing and data analytics experience or a combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the financial services industry is an asset.
- Experience developing, executing, and managing marketing plans and campaigns.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, business relationship management, and project management skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail, with the capability to handle a heavy workload while adhering to specified deliverables, deadlines, and priorities.
