US Tax Reviewer

The Opportunity:
H & R Block has been focused on quality client service for more than five decades and is the largest tax preparer in the industry. U.S tax preparation is an integral part of our tax preparation business. As a value add for our U.S. clients, we have all of our U.S returns reviewed by an in-house U.S. Tax Professional. We can offer some peace and a sense of security to the U.S preparers by providing this second pair of eyes. This position is a part time position from about mid-March to the end of April. Hours will be on a scheduled basis. Training will be required. We are currently expecting to add 2-3 individuals and are looking for various levels of expertise.

What you will do:
➢ Review federal, state income tax for individuals as well as businesses, foreign trusts, Form 8621’s, etc.
➢ Research tax situations and verify current tax laws
➢ Advise preparers of complete and accurate returns, or changes to be made.
➢ Communicate with the review team leader on a weekly basis or as needed.
➢ Attend any review team meetings as required.

What you will bring:
➢ At least 4 years U.S tax preparation experience with a minimum of 45 returns prepared.
➢ Strong U.S. software skills
➢ Excellent communication skills
➢ Ability to problem solve and make decisions independently
