TD1 Personal Tax Credits Return

The TD1 tax form calculates the amount of income tax that will be deducted from your employment or pension income, taking all credits into consideration. Everyone will need to fill out a federal TD1 form, while employees who claim more than the basic personal exemption have to complete the provincial/territorial TD1 form. You don't have to complete the form every year, only when your situation changes like a new job or new baby in the family. The TD1 is due on May 5 of the following year or June 15 for self-employed individuals and their spouses or common-law partners. The TD1 includes:
  • Name, address SIN and marital status
  • Income from all sources
  • Net income
  • Taxable income
  • Refund or balance owing
