Who can register?Everyone. People of all ages, from all walks of life are part of our winning team. With a wide range of class times and locations, it's a perfect opportunity whether you're working full-time, retired, a stay-at-home parent, or a college student.
When is training offered?Classes start in the fall, with registration beginning in August.
Can I enroll after it has already begun?Enrolment is permitted up to and during the first week of class.
How much does the course cost?It varies slightly. More details are available on our online Class Finder or at your local H&R Block office.
When do I pay for the course?Payment must be received before you start. You can pay in full online by credit card or at a local office by personal cheque, credit card, cash or money order.
How much do the materials cost?Tuition includes all books and materials. All you need to bring is a pencil and a willingness to learn. Calculators are recommended, but not required.
How do I register?Our user-friendly online registration starts on August 2. To register in person or over the phone contact a local office.

How long is the course?We provide 39 hours of tax theory training followed by 30 hours of hands-on software training.
How often does the class meet?Generally twice a week for 11 weeks in three-hour sessions, or once a week for six hours if you choose a weekend class.
Where are the classes held?Training takes place at H&R Block offices across the country. Use our Class Finder to find a location near you.
What happens if I miss a class?If you miss a class, you can usually make it up at another time that week.
What if I fail the course?If you attend, participate, do the homework, and listen to the instructor, you should have no problem succeeding.
How is the class taught?There is directed discussion with custom-designed textbooks and exercises to reinforce learnings.
Will there be homework?Yes. For every hour of class, expect an hour of work on your own.
What is the typical class size?Around 20 students, but it never exceeds 30 students.
Who teaches the classes?Course instructors are chosen based on experience and specialized training.
What if I don't complete the course?Depending on when you cancel, you may lose your registration and course fees. Contact your instructor or local office to find out more.
What do I get when I complete the course?Certificates of Accomplishment are given to students with a minimum grade of 70%. You're graded on assignments and the final exam.
