The Opportunity:
The Manager, Retail Services reports to the AVP, Retail Operations & Real Estate and is responsible for overlooking the organizations retail capital expenditure program, construction management, facility services, vendor management, and generating requisitions as required by project.
The Manager, Retail Services, is also responsible for establishing construction, fixture, and finish standards for permanent and temporary retail locations. They work closely with vendors to document standards in a user-friendly format for field managers to work with. This role is also responsible for engaging in RFP’s, vendor selection, and vendor setup.
The Manager, Retail Services works closely with internal teams such as Procurement, Finance, Legal, and especially Field Leaders.
As an asset, this individual will also have experience in lease negotiation, lease management and coordinating efforts with lease renewals for permanent and temporary locations.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- CapEx – manages capex for all retail locations to ensure it’s done on time and on budget.
- Project Management – leads weekly calls with real estate representatives, architect, and telecom to get updates and track the progress of each major project.
- Requisitions – generate purchase orders as required for all capex projects & requests.
- Field Requests – reviews and approves all field Capex requests for minor work or projects.
- Signage – works with vendor to generate sign renderings for approval.
- Facility Services – manages field requests for maintenance repairs, damages, site issues, and coordinate resolution with general contractors and field leaders.
- Insurance Claims – overlook and coordinates incident claims caused by third parties or the elements to ensure responsible party action as required.
- Utility Management – work with vendor partner to ensure activation and deactivations are done for locations in a timely manner.
- Vendor Management – responsible for establishing key vendors, managing relationships, and conducting annual reviews.
- Design Standards – work with Operations Leader, furniture vendors, and architect to establish design standards for permanent locations and temporary kiosks.
- Design – interior design and space layout ability is an asset.
- Lease Management – ability to manage lease renewals process is an asset.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or relevant education in the field. In addition, a minimum of 5 years’ experience in capex project management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Store design and space planning is an asset.
- Lease Management is an asset.
- Good knowledge of retail leasing and leasing processes.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with French as an asset.
- Very strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge in construction management and facility services.
- Ability to summarize and report key information in a timely manner.
- Strong vendor management skills.
