Fees

  • Fee for preparing return is deducted from the refund
  • By law, the tax preparation fee is calculated based on a percentage of the refund (15% for the first $300 and 5% on the balance)

Cheque

Benefits

  1. Cheque are printed up to $999.99 maximum per draft, therefore multiple drafts may be issued
  2. Can be deposited or cashed at a bank (processing period may be required)
  3. Can be deposited or cashed at a cheque cashing business

Fees

  • Fee for preparing return is deducted from the refund
  • By law, the tax preparation fee is calculated based on a percentage of the refund (15% for the first $300 and 5% on the balance)
  • A bank fee may apply (min $5.00 if no account)
  • A cheque cashing store usually charges a flat fee of $3.49 plus another 3.2% of the refund amount
