The "Positive Tax Experience" (the "Contest") is being held by H&R Block Canada, Inc.
1. Contest period
The Contest commences at 12:00 a.m. Mountain Standard Time on May 15, 2009 and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on July 1, 2009 (the "Contest Period").
2. Eligibility
The Contest is open to all legal residents of Canada excluding Quebec, who are the age of majority in their province of residence on or before July 1st, 2009. Employees, representatives, contractors, or agents of, members of the immediate family of, or living in the same household as an employee, representative, contractor or agent of H&R Block Canada, Inc. or any of its affiliated companies or their advertising or marketing agencies are prohibited from participating in the Contest.
3. How to enter
Write a short essay, no more than 300 words about your positive tax experience with your 2009 tax return - regardless if you did your taxes yourself, or you used the services of a tax preparer or accountant.

4. Prizes
Three (3) random prizes consisting of one (1) Visa Gift card valued at $100 will be awarded to three entrants. Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable. No substitutions by the winner will be allowed except at H&R Block's option.
5. Random draws
A random draw from all eligible entries will be held at H&R Block, on or about July 1, 2009 in Calgary, Alberta at or about 1pm Mountain Standard Time. All entries will be included in the draw.
The selected entrant will be contacted by phone or email. If the selected entrant cannot be contacted within fourteen (14) days after selection or there is a return of any notification as undeliverable, that entrant will be disqualified and an alternate entrant will be selected by random draw from among the remaining eligible entries. Before being declared the official winner, within fourteen (14) days after receiving notice of his/her possible winner status, the selected entrant must first a) correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical skill testing question to be administered on the release form; b) otherwise comply with these official rules; and c) except where prohibited by law, sign a standard declaration and release form confirming compliance with the contest rules, acceptance of the prize as awarded and releasing and agreeing to hold harmless the Sponsor, the host, the contest judges, the prize suppliers and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, franchises, advertising and promotion agencies, and the officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns of each such entity (the "Releases") from any and all liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising in connection with this contest, the entrant's participation herein and/or the awarding, acceptance and/or use of the prize or any portion thereof. If a selected entrant fails to return the contest documents within the specified time, he/she will forfeit the prize and an alternate eligible entrant will be selected by random draw.
6. Featured entries
All submitted entries will be evaluated by H&R Block with a select few published in Insight. If chosen to be published, the entrant's first name, first initial of the last name, and province will be displayed.
7. Contest general rules
By entering the Contest, participants agree to abide by its rules and the decisions of H&R Block Canada Inc, which are final. Further, participants agree to permit the use of their name, address, e-mail address for Contest administration and advertising purposes by H&R Block Canada, Inc, without further compensation.
By entering the contest, participants represent and warrant that (i) the submissions are original and of their own creation; and (ii) publication of the submissions will not violate the rights of any kind of any third party.
8. Limitation of liability
H&R Block Canada, Inc. and/or its agencies or affiliates will not be responsible for lost, late, invalid, delayed, or misdirected entries. H&R Block Canada, Inc. and/or its agencies or affiliates will not be responsible for invalid, expired, unchecked e-mail addresses.
Personally identifiable information of entrants that is collected, used or disclosed during the Contest will be used to administer the Contest, select prize winners and fulfill the prize and will be treated in accordance with H&R Block Canada, Inc. privacy policy accessible on H&R Block Canada, Inc's website at www.hrblock.ca.
If participants submit entries which contain a person/persons which is/are identifiable, participants must obtain the consent of the person/persons (or, in the case of children, their legal guardian) that H&R Block Canada, Inc. can use, reuse, publish, republish, or modify their image and/or images including the right to use the images in any and all media.
